Case Study
At Elsner Elektronik, our team has comprehensively modernized the product data landscape and has thus taken an important step towards a future-proof content supply chain. With advastamedia as PIM, a scalable and central platform is now available that consistently manages product information, increases its quality and automatically transfers it to relevant output channels.

Even in the initial phase, it became apparent how strongly advastamedia standardizes a previous, fragmented data world. Marketing, sales and product management now access a common, reliable source. The continuous data chain between ERP and PIM ensures that master data is kept up to date without double maintenance or manual correction loops. At the same time, two production-ready exports — an Excel-based price list and technical data for the documentation system — are available, which significantly speed up publications.
Before the start of the project, product information was distributed across various systems and files. This led to increased maintenance costs, different data levels and a long time-to-market for price lists or technical documents. The aim was therefore to standardize processes, visibly increase quality and streamline the provision of product-relevant information.
During implementation, advastamedia was initially installed, configured and expanded to include a structured, practical data model. Based on this, a robust interface to the ERP was created, which automatically imports master data, systematically checks and transparently logs it. Clear validation rules, role and rights concepts and defined guidelines have also been developed for subsequent operation, which ensure consistent and reliable data storage.
The results already show significant efficiency gains: Processes from data entry to publication have become noticeably leaner, responsibilities have been clearly defined and manual activities have been reduced to a minimum. Versioned data sets and traceable protocols create transparency and security — both internally and vis-à-vis external partners. At the same time, the setup is structured in such a way that it can easily be expanded to include additional channels, formats or languages in the future.
“With advastamedia, we have turned distributed data into a powerful, centrally controllable content supply chain — noticeably faster, noticeably more secure. ”
Marketing project responsibility
From the ERP master data base to clear quality rules to automated export into price lists and technical documents: The solution remains close to standards, but is also flexible enough to accommodate new requirements. Documented processes, monitoring and defined KPIs ensure sustainable operation and make the solution a reliable component of digital product communication.
The outlook also shows how profoundly the transformation will continue. The plan includes the fully automated creation of product data sheets and declarations of conformity — rule-based, versioned and with audit-proof filing. In parallel, DPP readiness is being developed: initial structures and attributes for the digital product passport, including validation rules and defined derivations for partner platforms. Step by step, advastamedia is becoming a central content hub for all product information.
Conclusion: The project impressively demonstrates how a clearly defined data model, a stable ERP connection and reusable, standardized exports generate measurable efficiency gains in a short period of time — and at the same time lay the foundation for sustainable growth and regulatory sustainability.
